- Name Your Price
While managing the design and production of the AIA Chicago Architect magazine, this issue we hit a dilemma. The editor wanted a cover to reflect the story-line of “architects working for less or even free.” While looking through endless pages of stock photo, I sat with the associate editor, Amanda Vasilikos, to brainstorm for a concept. The next day, her concept of an architect looking for work in areas such as a flea market, etc. turned into this new cover. I had decided to shoot a cover with a “look-alike” architect showcasing the concept of “architects working for less or for free.” Amanda and I took turns shooting, model/actor, Matt Healy in one of the vacant streets of NYC with the very sign that reflects the idea of this coming issue…” Name Your Price.” Geri Bearden, art director, also helped with additional feedback and signage.
